The Brooklyn Art Song Society will premiere a new work for soprano, tenor and piano four-hands on June 1, 2018. The new cycle, It wasn’t a dream, is a setting of several poems from poet Diane Seuss’s Pulitzer Prize Finalist book of poetry, Four-Legged Girl.

My new work, the right to be forgotten, for saenghwang, harp and string quartet will be premiered at the Pacific Rim Music Festival 2017 from October 23 — November 7, 2017. The piece will be performed by members of National Gugak Center Contemporary Traditional Orchestra and the Borromeo String Quartet.
Left Coast presents a double feature in November 2017 at ZSpace in San Francisco: The West Coast premiere of Never was a knight…, Kurt Rohde’s new singspiel about the interior life of Don Quixote sung by tenor Joe Dan Harper. This production will feature video by Jennifer Coates and art direction by David Humphrey. Also featured will be a new production of Kurt Rohde and Tom Laqueur’s opera Death With Interruptions, directed by Barbara Heroux, with singers Nikki Einfeld, Joe Dan Harper and Daniel Cilli.
Soprano Nikki Einfeld and Left Coast Chamber Ensemble will premiere Power Is Everywhere on May 30 at 7:30PM at the San Francisco Conservatory of Music. The piece uses an assemblage of texts by Foucault, and casts the singer the instigator for what is said, sung, done and enacted onstage.
New Music New Haven will perform a program featuring guest composer Kurt Rohde’s Treatises for an Unrecovered Past, and more, on Thursday, March 9, 2017, at 7:30PM in Morse Recital Hall.

Cellist Rhonda Rider will be premiering a number of new works for solo cello throughout March 2017 as part of her amazing US National Parks Artist-in-Residence Project at Petrified Forest National Park. One of the new pieces she’ll be playing is a strange work I composed for her called credo petrified:
